Burnett Reunion @ Aspen Grove

This past week we got the chance to go up to Aspen Grove with the Burnett clan. It consisted of my Grandpa Boyd, his 3 brothers and any of their posterity that was able to make it. We do this about once every 3 years. Just enough to remember some faces and names but not enough to know everyone. It was fun to get to spend the time getting to know many of them though.
What wasn't fun was the weather...cold and rainy most of the time, with the sun poking through occasionally to let us all know how nice it could have been if we had gotten more sun. And to end the trip with a bang, there was snow coming down Saturday morning when we were getting ready to head home. What great weather for June!
The girls had a fun time going with their groups. Aspen Grove has a great concept of sending your children with all the other children that same age from camp while the parents are free to do any of the scheduled activities or just sit around enjoying a little quite time. They even offered to take little Wesley but I figured he probably wouldn't cause too much trouble.
Family reunions really are a great way to help us think about where we come from and what kind of legacy we want to leave behind. I am part of such a great past and I hope to continue in a way thatthose who come after me will be proud of where they come from.
